The KDE developer community has announced the official release of KDE 4.0.3, the third monthly bugfix release for the KDE 4 series. When KDE 4.0 was released in January, we noted a significant number of bugs and weaknesses. The monthly bugfix releases have improved the situation quite a bit, and the upcoming KDE 4.1 release—which is scheduled for July—will go even further.
Minor fixes and improvements in this release can be found in most of the major components of the desktop. A particularly large number of performance improvements and bugfixes have landed in KHTML in this release as well as support for the getElementsByClassName DOM method from HTML5. There are also a handful of fixes and improvements in KWin, Plasma, Konqueror, and other programs. The 4.0.3 release can be downloaded from KDE's FTP mirrors. For more details, check out the changelog.
